Worship

Welcome to the amazing realm of worship!

What is worship? Many people are asking this question. People are talking and wondering; questions, opinions and different point of views are being stated. This is the reason why we in Nokia Missio Jyväskylä feel that there is a need for this kind of worship column. We as a church want from our part to share teaching about worship. This column site is meant to be informative, constructive, challenging, encouraging and a blessing.

Pekka Hautakangas: What is worship?

In worship, man knowingly draws himself close to God. The bible teaches that when we draw ourselves close to God, He draws Himself to us. God’s arms are always open, but He invites us to take our own step towards Him. God is holy and perfect. When a creation experiences the presence of his Creator, his automatic reaction is admiration and praise. Man’s heart is filled with deep honor, love and gratefulness towards his Creator. Worship is thus a natural reaction to God’s presence.

Tytti Taipale: ETERNAL WORSHIP

Do you know what lasts forever according to the bible? Before the earth was created, all of its time when we humans have been created and living here and after that, when we go to Jesus? Have you ever thought what the red chord is from eternity to eternity? Have you thought why you have been primarily created here on earth? To all of these questions the answer is: praise and worship.

God has created you for His own glory. He has molded you and prepared you to be able to worship Him. God has chosen a people for Himself, Israel, which He talks lovely of: For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear. (Jeremiah 13:11)

Paul Wilburg`s message to the worship leaders

Privilege
These are special days! To be a worship leader is a rare privilege, it’s not a job, it is a privilege. In Revelation 15, there is a picture of heavenly worship. I’d like to say to worship leaders something very simple. The songs that you choose are very important, because they express to the people the doctrine, theology, it expresses the Word of God to the people in a way that becomes a part of them  that other things can not.

Heavenly worship
I’ve experienced for myself that many times when difficulties came, a song of worship would rise up inside of me and would help me move through the situation
I’d say to you that choose the words for worship very carefully, and remember that in Revelation 15, when heaven is opened, it says that there was a group of people around the throne, they wore garments of white, they held harps of gold given them by God, but they sang a particular song. It says, they the song of Moses, the servant of  God and the song of the Lamb.

Darlene Zschech: True Worship

But the hour is coming, and now is, when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4: 23-24)

True worship is not about the songs, the vocals, the band or the choir. All of those things contribute towards a great EXPRESSION of worship but the essence of worship is when your heart and soul, the core of your being, connects with and adores the Spirit of God.

Most people are probably more familiar with worshipping corporately as a church, but it is when you worship one on one, as a lover of Christ, that you enter into an INTIMACY that maybe only you and the Lord will ever know about.

Darlene Zschech: Loving the House of God

Darlene ZschechPsalm 52:8 - I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God.
There is a dynamic that is only found within the Kingdom, when the 'lovers of God' come together in unity to become 'THE CHURCH'... the glorious, unblemished, whole, beautiful bride that the King is returning for.
As an individual believer, I am 'His House'. He lives in me, and in Him I have my purpose. Collectively, we come together to create a structure that is made up of the powerful testimonies of His people. Here are a few keys to being effective and fulfilled in the Great House of God.
